Background graphics for Word and Powerpoint

These images have been collected over a period of about 10 years, mostly for flyers or as backgrounds for Powerpoint presentations on Brazil. Most of them are 1100 x 850 pixels or so, to provide an adequate resolution for graphics. Most usually have a blank area for text, or the image has been "lightened" so that text can be overlayered.

For those who have little experience in Powerpoint, background images can be put on any presentation with the following commands: Format, Background, select the "down arrow" in the "Background Fill" area and choose "fill effects", go to the "picture" tab and then click on "Select picture". Find the background picture file you wish and click OK. Pronto. Be sure that the "Omit background graphics from master" box is not checked. Also remember to choose an image that is either "portrait" or "landscape", according to the vertical or horizontal orientation of your text. For include text, I choose the "text box" from the "Insert" main menu item. Also, it may be necessary to change the printer properties (from main menu: File, Print, Properties...) to include the background image in the printout. In Microsoft Word, it is pretty much the same process, but the background only shows on the screen document, and cannot be printed, at least in the version I use. So go Powerpoint if you want to print your document.
