ALL of the Maps of the Sierra Estrella and Old Maricopa Region

Over about 12 years I have been collecting maps from a variety of sources. Here are all the ones I have in electronic format.

Before I list them, be aware that most of the are only partial views, relating to the area of interest. The problem with most old maps is that they are are reproductions in reduced size, so print and geographic features are hard to make out even on the original documents. In addition to this,scanning or taking pictures of a document also causes a further loss of clarity and detail. Initially I tried to fix this by hand, using graphics programs, but format and size restrictions on images made this a futile effort.

Anyway, the main reason all of them are here is that it serves as an online basis to check images, so that if I find a better/clearer version, I will be able copy it and replace the older, less usable version.

For reference purposes, the maps are listed by year published and the name of the main geographer / author is cited. The official name of the map, if given, is identified by quotes. I have also added a 1 to 5 star rating (*****), as well as some comments on each map. 1 star is "bad" usually meaning it is too small or the image quality is inferior. Maps that are of greater historical value or personal interest get 3 or 4 stars. Five star rated maps are both interesting and readable. I have added thumbnail images to assist in identifying the maps.
