I have collected quite a few maps and charts of the Sierra Estrella region, mostly trying to identify place names. The problem is that most places (peaks, valleys, ravines, passes, washes, ridges, canyons, etc...) have no official names on maps. Many of the names I learned as a child are not found anywhere. AND THERE IS THE BIG MYSTERY!!
I am still working on this page. I have some good material, but no time.

p1. This is my own rendition of the area. I will use this to put the place names I know, quando eu tiver tempo!

p3. Some of the photographs in my collection. I don't known if anyone cares, but the patch in the bottom left corner (west of Sevenmile Mountain) is a "secret" German Airforce and Lufthansa training airstrip. We have been invaded: the Pima Indians on the east and the Germans on the west! Sorry, I got carried away.

p4. This is pretty much the whole mountain range, except for the very north end. You will not get much more detail then this. Too bad the photo overlays were taken at different times, with a variety of light and shadow conditions.

p5.SE tip, detail

p6. North End of Estrella range

p7. Profile: all 20+ miles in detail.
I intend to use this also the fix place names on peaks and valleys.
