1) Who was the Brazilian girl at Lincoln's second inauguration ball in 1865? I have run accross remarks about her twice in Civil War books. She caused quite a stir. Evidently she was the daughter of the Brazilian Ambassador. Lincoln himself commented with friends about her, but no names were given.
2) Did the Baron of Arizona and Wife really go to Queen Victorias 50th year celebration and rub elbows with all the nobility of Europe? Reavis was a scoundrel, so you can't believe anything he said. But, since he almost got hold of half of Arizona, and did get a ton of money from the Peralta grant fraud, you almost have to admire him. If true, I bet she was only person there that used to clean churches in her bare feet. (see story about Maricopa Wells in Arizona section)
3) What ever happened to my old teacher Dona Maria Nilde?
The article is old, and Lord knows I am no fan of left wing radicals or Cardinal Arns, but she was a nice person. What happened to Dona Mariazinha? Dona Odila? Dona Olga? Dona Odete? Mrs Griender? Dona Cecilia, Prof Joel and Prof Serbio and all the others from Ginasio Estadual Vocacional Oswaldo Aranha in mid 60's?
